The notice period is 28 days
The cost is dependent on where the property is, the size of the property and if you have additional bills to pay. As a guide, prices start from as little as £60 per week.
The main cost is the license fee payable monthly in advance. There is also an initial administration charge to cover the DBS (formerly CRB) check and license preparation.
Yes, a deposit is required (a month's licence fee) and is returned 28 days after you leave the property. Deposits are returned in full on the condition that the property is vacated clean and clear (the same way it was at the start).
Yes, each guardian will have to have an individual licence but you can live with your partner.
Some properties may come furnished, although it is best to prepare yourself that the property will be unfurnished.
Your responsibilities as a guardian would be to keep the property tidy and in a clean condition, to be a considerate neighbour and generally look after the property by reporting any defects to VPS Guardian Services.
Yes, you would be covered on the VPS Guardian Services insurance policy; however, for your contents and personal items you will need to arrange insurance for this yourself.
It could be a variety of properties including a flat, house, school, church, sports centre, office building, pub or farm. All properties are checked to ensure they are fully fire and health and safety compliant.
In some cases the properties can be decorated but you must always seek written permission in advance from VPS Guardian Services.
VPS Guardian Services will pay for council tax where it is applicable.
In some cases, utilities will be paid for and in others you will need to pay. If you have to pay for utilities then this will be explained to you at your induction to the property.
In many cases you would have individual facilities, however, it is likely that in a large building that you would be sharing kitchen and bathroom facilities with your fellow guardians, however, no more than 5 guardians would share a kitchen or bathroom. This would all be explained at your induction.
In most cases you would be living with fellow guardians, but there will be occasions you could be living on your own.
Yes, of course you can go on holidays, but you would need to inform VPS Guardian Services two weeks in advance so that we can ensure that the property is secure, particularly if you are living alone.
Some properties might have telephone and wifi facilities; however, if they do not, you can arrange to have them installed in most cases. You would need to seek written permission in advance from VPS Guardian Services. Installation would need to be arranged with the appropriate provider and in your name.
Once you apply you will go through VPS Guardian Services screening process, followed by an interview with one of our team. From there we will liaise with you about the properties available and arrange viewings.
